Luxury Coach Signal Unit

Widney has been a longstanding supplier to UK bus and coach manufacturer Plaxtons based in Scarborough.

With a history of supplying windows to the bus industry, Widney were the ideal partner for Plaxtons when looking to identify a UK manufacturer for a motorised driver’s signal unit.  Prior to Widney’s development no UK manufacturer was able to supply a motorised DSU for the luxury coach market.

Plaxtons target was to introduce a lower cost DSU for launch of the new Elite coach.

Widney’s design team worked closely with Plaxtons’ engineering team to develop a new window at a lower cost than the European alternative.
